How can I do ad-insertion on HLS via Wowza?

I am working on implementing a solution to ad-insertion across all platforms including PC/MAC, iOS, Androids, Silverlight. Is there an equivalent of Cue Points on HLS?

You might be able to find something in here,

Timed data events are probably the closest thing you can find to cue points for what you’re trying to do.
