FFMPEG to compare with Wowza Benchmark

Hi everyone,

I have a Wowza license reserved for live video streaming. I am thinking to use it also for video transcoding.

  1. Currently I evaluate ffmpeg open-source and see how it matches up with Wowza Benchmark, both on the sample instance under GCP. When I used a n-standard-8, I saw CPU 770%. Does it mean I have already maximized my resources? Will running Wowza on the same instance size give me a performance benefit here?

  2. Newbie questions: If I use a normal GCP compute engine to host a website and points VOD video links to Google storage, will it stream the videos as fine as using a Wowza instance to stream VOD video?

Appreciate all your helps.
