Escaping a running Wowza instance in Windows/Cygwin

Hey All,

Coming from a Mac/Linux stack. I’m running the server locally on a new Windows machine and have it running in a Cygwin window for debug statements. However ctl+c and ctl+z don’t seem to terminate the process. It drops me back to a prompt but the process seems to continue to run in the background occasionally outputting log statements.

Is there a key command to terminate or is that not a Windows things?

Cheers,

Peter Couture

Hi,

Please see the How to start and stop Wowza Streaming Engine software article for reference.

Hi PCouture,

Have you tried running the shutdown.bat script in a separate shell window? You can find this file in [install-dir]/bin folder.

Thank you! It’s been a long time since I’ve done any shell work in Windows.
