Hello,
can please someone tell me if there is a way of configuring Wowza to be able to download media files using the HTTP protocol in the same way you would download a file from a Web Server?
I know I could configure an Apache server for this task, but I was wandering if Wowza can natively do that.
Thanks in advance,
Cosmin
No, sorry, Wowza can’t do that. You install a web server and map the Wowza content folder to a web location.
Richard
John,
You would install a web server such as Apache or IIS or Tomcat, then configure the doc root to be the Wowza content folder.

John,
I think you can use Smooth streaming to Silverlight on Windows mobile. See if our Silverlight examples work. Then you can use BuyDRM with smoothstreaming

Hi Richard,
Could you give a little more information on how I’d do this?
Thanks,
John.

Thanks Richard - but how would this work from a security point of view? Couldn’t users then simply access all our media via the web server IP and filenames?
Yes, of course.
Richard
So as far as Windows Mobile goes, Wowza doesn’t offer a secure method of providing video? Or am I missing something…? We chose Wowza on the understand that it offered security over all platforms. Is this in fact not the case?
Thanks again,
John.
