Does the actual stream get encrypted?

New poster…

Have read up on protecting streaming using Secure Tokens and all the stuff related to that. It appears to me that it all relates to gaining access (Connection accepted or rejected).

I can not determine, with any degree of confidence, that the content itself is encrypted on the fly and de-encrypted in the player.

If we are to deploy a solution like this for a video on demand solution, it is expected that the stream itself is encrypted and that decryption happens in the player.

Can someone please confirm this?

As I am new to this, it may seem like a simple (Dumb?) question.

My guess would be yes (Would not make sense otherwise) and would all players, regardless of platform, be able to decrypt the stream? There are references to Tiny Encryption Algorithm (TEA), which would indicate that this is the case but I am not sure.

Thank you in advance.
