connect streams to SSM source

Hello,

is there any way to connect stream files to Source Specific Multicast Streams?

I have some streams over an cisco switch which is doing SSM so I have to enter the source address of the stream.

E.g. in VLC: udp://10.69.xx.xx@239.4.xx.xx:8208.

best regards

Manfred

Hello,

Thanks for contacting Wowza Forums!

You can setup .stream files with the particular multicast stream info and Wowza should pull that stream into the server:

.stream file setup

Hello Jermaine,

I know how to setup .stream files.

What I like to do is connecting an MPEG-TS based encoder over an cisco switch which is doing IGMP-V3/SSM to the Wowza Streaming Engine!

What I tried till now is enter the multicast address:port in the Add Stream File dialog box and enter the “multicastInterfaceAddress_in” in the “Incoming RTP Datagram” section in the vhost configuration.xml file!

Neither the Interface address of the Wowza Streaming Engine nor the actual source address is working!

The only way to get SSM working is to use a different Streaming Software which is capable to do Source Specific Multiacast.

regards

Manfred
