Hi all,

I’m using Wowza Streaming Engine 4.1 with DRM AddOn for BuyDRM.

I have a multibitrate VOD stream (smil file), my problem is when streaming using HLS, it seems that my player is waiting for wowza to encrypt EACH chunck for EACH bitrate before receiving some data from wowza!!!

I have dozens of logs like this during encryption :

Note that there is no problem when using SMOOTH STREAMING.

Is there any setting to update to avoid this behavior?

Hi,

I think you’re better raising this with support. Please send and email to support@wowza.com and include the following,

[wowza-install-path]/conf

[wowza-install-path]/logs

[wowza-install-path]/manager

and please describe exactly the steps you’ve taken so far and any custom modules or additional properties you may have added.

I finally found my problem today.

I was using a custom IBuyDRMStreamNameToKeyInfo class to get content key from our backend, and I was not caching the web service result, so the WS was called for each chunck, I just added a simple hashmap to store keys and everything is working great now.

I wonder though if it is normal that the key/name mapper is called for every chunck…
