Best h264 software encoder

So, i’ve been looking for best software encoder for live streaming h264. So far only one which can give decent video quality output is adobe flash media encoder. I’ve tried wirecast, but it cant compare to adobe’s.

Is there any other worth mentioning? What encoders are you people using on windows platform?

The pricey hardware encoders are supposed to the best.

You should be able to get a comparable (same if not better) video with Wirecast compared to FMLE. There are many settings and options to play around with. FMLE is a better value (free, but read the eula). Wirecast has a better track record for supporting other players, e.g., IPhone.

You may want to contact Wirecast (Telestream) for advice on encoder settings.

You can absolutely get the forum members’ opinions here on the subject. I’m just suggesting that the encoder maker may have advice as well since they know their product best.

I dont know if am I doing something wrong but at the same bitrate FMLE gives much better video quality than wirecast. Can anyone else confirm this?

Sure, but isnt this LIVE ENCODERS section where people can talk about LIVE ENCODERS and its problems?

If my question was out of order I apologise.

You are right, I was just following rrlanham’s reply where he said that I should get same if not better results with flme.
