Hi,
I’m using a VLC VLM config file to specify multiple live “broadcasts” inside VLC. This works fine, except that it seems to consume memory at a slow but steady rate which means eventually the server is in to swap so far that the streams just die. I’ve tried with 0.8.6, 0.9.9 and 1.0.1 all return the same result. The only common thing is the config file I’m using (different servers, operating systems and versions of VLC tried).
I should add, this is transcoding an mpeg HTTP stream in to x264 to stream to iPhone OS devices. Has anyone else experienced this behaviour? I’m happy to post the config I’m using here, I’d also appreciate if anyone has any suggestions for Linux software that would do this (take a http stream, transcode it for iPhones and push it to Wowza), it doesn’t matter if it’s commercial or free so long as it’s stable.
Thanks,
James
