Amino A-125 problem?

I’m trying to stream live to an Amino A-125 set-top box. I’ve added the 2 properties shown at https://www.wowza.com/docs/how-to-use-amino-a130-a125-with-wowza-media-server. When I connect from my Android phone I get a nice, clean stream. When I try to connect from the STB I’m not getting the stream.

Do the log entries for the Amino suggest any ideas as to what I’m doing wrong? The input stream is coming from an ffmpeg box, and is encoded as:

“-f flv -vcodec h264 -r 25 -b:v 550k -acodec libfaac -ar 44800 -ac 2 -b:a 64k -preset ultrafast”

Hi,

It looks like the STB is attempting to connect but, for whatever reason, is unable to play the stream. Do you have any errors from the STB that might shed some light on this? Does the codecs sent from FFMPEG align with the Amino A-125 capabilities?

Actually “MPEG-4 AVC” is h.264, aka mpeg-4 part 10.

Try adding this Property to the Application.xml /RTP Properties container:

To get the logging outlined in the article you will need to play the stream using an RTSP client such as VLC player.

Looks like the codecs might be the issue. My partner dug up the following specs on the Amino:

Manufacturer # A125

Manufacturer Amino

Codec MPEG-4 AVC, MPEG-4 , MPEG-2

Video Outputs Composite, S-Video, Component, RGB, RF Modulator

Video Inputs No

Video Inputs Resolution No

Output Resolution 525-line NTSC, 625-line PAL

Audio Outputs S/PDIF, Unbalanced Stereo

It doesn’t say anything about H.264 or AAC. It also appears that the A-125 wants to see it’s streams wrapped in a MPEG-TS stream, , so I guess I need to do some more digging.

Ah, thanks. I did a little more digging after reading that and now a little better understanding of MPEG-4 and MPEG-TS. I will do more testing and experimenting.

Also, the guy who is doing the Amino setup for me reported that the STB is now playing the live streams! So thanks the pointers, guys - they did the trick.
