.3gp streaming

Hi, guys!

Just want to make sure I’m understanding things right:

The .3gp streaming means that I can play a mobile video file, right?

My idea was to make a file upload page (wap) where users could upload their .3gp files and then to be able to watch these files on a computer streaming the 3gp content via wowza - is this possible?

Cheers!

Chris

My understanding is that you need Flash Lite 3 on the phone to playback the content.

That will work as well.

The new config files point to the [install-dir]/content folder for media content. The old config/example files used [iinstall-dir]/examples/SampleContent. The Wowza Pro server does log the absolute path that it is searching for the content.

So you want to be able to playback a .3gp file uploaded from a cell phone on a web page. The playback is going to occur on a regular computer. The answer is yes. That being said we have found that not every .3gp file will playback in the Flash player. So I would run some tests with the Flash player and .3gp file generated on different cell phones.

to play it back on the phone, yes - but that is not going to be an option in this version.

Now what I basically want is playing back a 3gp file that is uploaded from a cellphone.

The functionality I’ve got now is going to a wap page, selecting a 3gp video and uploading this file to a folder called “mobile” on my server.

What I need to know is how I can get it to play on a common webpage with a flash utilizing wowza?

Thanks!

but i can just use

my_ns.play("MP4:http://www.myserver.com/mobile/video.3gp);

One last thing: Just upgraded the server today from 1.3.2 to the preview release and when copying my old streams from applications/sample content to the same destination in the new install i get StreamNotFound on all of my old streams.

Has the default destination for recorded streams been changed in the preview version?

Thanks again
