# YouTube Live

I see that one can stream live from YouTube without the need for Wowza.

Interested to know what advantage(s) using Wowza would provide over just using YouTube Live.

Hello David,

There are many advantages, but here are a couple key points:

You can deliver to YouTube and now FaceBook Live from Wowza Streaming Engine as well As Wowza Streaming Cloud (since our most recent updates).

You can archive locally, if you were running Wowza Streaming Engine with our GoCoder application to a laptop, for an on site broadcast, while delivering to Wowza Streaming Cloud for scalability to reach your audience on both of these platforms as well as your Self branded website to deliver to your core audience.

If you can describe your workflow I may be able to give you more fitting examples for your particular use case.
