# Wowza server web admin panel hangs

Hi,

I’m trying to access wowza admin panel however whenever try to go there, the request hangs and “authorisation failed” error message appears in wowza error log.

I have tried searching your forum however I have had no luck in finding a solution.

Any ideas what I can do to fix it.

Hello there,

Have you configured your admin.password file? This is located in [istall-dir]/conf/admin.password

It should look something like this:

```auto
# Admin password file (format [username][space][password][space][group]|[group])
#username password group|group
[B]username password admin|advUse[/B]r

```

Also, you can start Wowza in stand alone mode [install-dir]/bin/startup.bat|startup.sh and view the logs in the console. Please post what you see in the console here if you are still having trouble.
