# Wowza Media Server 2.2.3 streaming a URL

Hello,
is it possible to receive an URL (http, rtmpe, mms, or other) and stream out this stream?
How do I configure a \*.stream file for this kind of publish?

You can re-stream an RTMP source with a Wowza Edge.

In other cases (http, mms) you will need a transcoder in between. You can use VLC to transcode. If the http source is a segmented stream, there is not a way to handle this that I know of.

mms input will work, there is not an example in the Article, but just replace the rtps input in the IP camera example.
