# Wirecast fails digest authentication in Streaming Engine 4.1.0

Hi, I changed wowza version from 4.0.1 to 4.1.0.

When I used 4.0.1 wirecast could Live streaming with digest authentication.

But when I changed 4.1.0, wirecast fails it 2-for-1 or 5-for-1.

I read 4.1.0 release notes, so it said changed way to authentication.

[Changed RTSP authentication to use either application-level properties"securityPublishPasswordFile" or “rtspEncoderAuthenticateFile” to find password file]

[Changed RTMP to allow either application-level properties “securityPublishPasswordFile” or “rtmpEncoderAuthenticateFile” to find password file]

Is this situation relats with changing it ?

I wonder if this is wowza’s bugs.

Hello.

I am not sure here but it sounds like the patch fixed your problem?

The patch is distributed by Wowza. In between stable, production releases, development builds are produced periodically in the form of updates.

I would say keep your installation as up to date as possible.

Thank U for your help, Mr.salvadore.

And I tried patch 4.1.0.03, then I confirmed bug fixed.

So, this patch 4.1.0.03 is Wowza corporation formal release ?

or someone who builed voluntary ?

And one more question, should I fix this problem whether using this patch or down grade version such as 4.0.1 ?
