# What type of server should you use when installing a Wowza instance?

Just need quickly to know…is it the C3 types of instances you should use when installing a Wowza?

Hi,

It will really depend on what you are going to do, whether vod only, live streaming, live and vod, or live plus transcoding etc.

The table of pre-built Wowza AMIs [on this page](https://www.wowza.com/docs/pre-built-amis-amazon-machine-images) shows the associated instance sizes that can be used.

But you should definitely account for the usage scenario before picking.
