# What is RA Media server?

I got a dell studio 15 laptop and saw that there is an account called RA Media server. Its an adminstrator and is password protected. I can delete the account, but I don’t know if its safe to. I just don’t know if it will cause me to lose files, features of the computer, or access to something I need. Thanks for the help!

Hi,

I believe [RA Media Server](http://en.community.dell.com/support-forums/software-os/f/3524/t/19252460) is an account that is created on Dell machines to enable remote access (RA). This is not related to Wowza in any way. If you’re concerned about the impact of removing the account then I’d suggest contacting Dell support.
