# VOD timestamp Parameter

Hi,

i want to record a live stream, its a big project with many events.

and later i want to watch events by date and time like [http://example.com/vod/20160811#](http://example.com/vod/20160811#)

i want to jump in the vod file to the timestamp. like #duration=timestamp - unixtime(recordstart)

is it possible ? how can i access the metadata from video, the time should be save there.

need i write a module ? or its already implemented in wowza, can anybody help me with module i am a novice in java programming

You can specify start time and duration for VOD HTTP streaming. See [this article](https://www.wowza.com/docs/how-to-specify-a-play-start-time-and-duration-for-http-streaming) for details.
