# VOD MPEG-DASH Stream SMIL file with captions

hello.

for the past few days i was trying to set an addaptive MPEG-DASH stream using SMIL file.

i was able to set several video streams.

as for captions, generating the mpd file wowza seems to ignore my element in the smil file

MPEG-DASH streaming a mp4 file with seperate WEBVTT captions does work.

my smil file looks like this

is it possible to do such thing?

Hi,

Currently Wowza [Closed Captions](https://www.wowza.com/docs/closed-captioning) is not available for MPEG-DASH. It is on our product roadmap but I can’t say when this will be made available. I would suggest keeping an eye on our [software updates page](https://www.wowza.com/docs/software-updates) for the latest news.
