# vod mp4 file change duration of chunk

Hi.

I want change the size of each chunk of mp4 file without encode (using smooth streaming protocol)

Do you know where i can find more information about that?

Do we need to encode the vod file again?

Hello there.

I think your best bet here would be to re-encode to get best results, since the packetizer has to break on key frames,. You can follow this guide for how to best configure your encode settings:
