# VOD encrypt HLS with key files

Hello,

I need to encrypt HLS VOD stream using fairplay and SAMPLE-AES encryption. I’ve created key file with cupertinostreaming-aes128 section but when I get chunlist there’s no #EXT-X-KEY:METHOD=SAMPLE-AES,… tag and HLS stream isn’t encrypted - I can play it on any player. Key files are working fine for MSS and Dash (I’m using Wowza Streaming Engine 4.7.2). Am I missing something?

Hi,

I have exact same problem here: AES-128 works fine, but switching to SAMPLE-AES doesn’t work properly. Have you managed to solve it?
