# Using Canon EOS 1100D with Wowza

Hi,

Sorry if this is a very easy question or thing to do but I am a newbie to Wowza.

I am currently producing a live stream with my webcam and although the video quality is acceptable, we would like it to be as high as possible.

I have a Canon EOS 1100D at home which can record video’s in HD.

Is their a way to connect this with wowza to produce a live stream?

I have tried WireCast but cannot get it to work, is there any other solutions anyone has had success with?

This might not have the benefit you are looking for, or at least not really worth the trouble compared to using a high quality web cam. I tried to do this with a Canon HD cam and I found that it was possible but had to switch to SD mode, as I remember, defeating the purpose.

In some cases there may be a business requirement to have something more substantial looking than a web cam. In that case, look for a pro or “prosumer” camera that has this capability advertised and built-in.
