# Unable to import AC3 audio from MpegTS udp on Wowza Streaming Engine 4

Hi Guys,

I am trying to stream a live channel from a udp MPTS. Its an HD channel encoded with H264 AVC/AC3. The HLS stream coming out doesn’t have an audio included. I have followed the instructions from this article [https://www.wowza.com/docs/how-to-publish-and-play-a-live-stream-mpeg-ts-based-encoder#importAAC](https://www.wowza.com/docs/how-to-publish-and-play-a-live-stream-mpeg-ts-based-encoder#importAAC) regarding the mpegtsImportAC3 flag in APPLICATION/RTP/Properties but to no avail. I have also tried putting the parameters in APPLICATION/Mediacaster/Properties, as suggested in this article [AC3 in Wowza not available at all?](http://community.wowza.com/t/-/41452), and neither did it worked.

I have also tried specifying it on the .stream file directly as suggested in this article [https://www.wowza.com/docs/how-to-specify-per-stream-settings-in-stream-files](https://www.wowza.com/docs/how-to-specify-per-stream-settings-in-stream-files)

But still it didnt worked. Is this still supported in version 4? I remembered I did this before in version 3 and it worked pretty well.

I can also provide a udp capture of the source stream if required.

I am lost, I don’t know what else to try. The client needs to stream a non adaptive bitrate HD stream. Please help.

Oh and I forgot to mention. Based on the log wowza is not recognizing the AC3 Stream: Type: 0x06 PID: 0x1519 as AC3 audio. I am not sure if this could be the culprit.

Hi,

If you are trying to play AC3 audio on your Android device then it’s doubtful that will work.

The [Android developer pages](http://developer.android.com/guide/appendix/media-formats.html) list the Android compatible codecs along with delivery protocols.

Hi Salvadore,

For those who are suffering the same issue. WowzaStreamingEngine 4.0.6-02 did the trick for me. There were problems with descriptor tags that was improved on this version.

You might try adding this property to the RTP/Properties container in [install-dir]/[application]/Application.xml:

This is under the RTP container:

And this is under Mediacaster:

Boolean

But I am not getting any audio out of the Android format. I get audio, from the ios link. I get pink/white noise on adobe RTMP/HDS formats.

I think I am close but need help.
