# Transfer applications from Wowza Server 3 to Wowza Streaming Engine

Hello,

Is there a way to just copy over the applications from Wowza Server 3 to Wowza Streaming Engine? I tried to just copy the applications over to the “conf” and “applications” folder, but I am unable to see them in list of applications in Wowza Streaming Engine Manager.

Hello there,

There have been a few changes to the Application.xml file in Wowza Streaming Engine. That may be why you don’t see the copied applications in the list. You should not copy old applications over to Wowza 4 as this will cause unforeseeable issues, and is highly recommended to use old applications strictly as reference for Wowza Streaming Engine applications.

Yes, if they are the same version of Wowza. And if they are not exactly the same but the file you are copying is not different, then that will be okay too.

Once I rebuild them on one Wowza Streaming Engine, can I copy those to other Wowza Streaming Engine’s?
