# Transcoder won't properly transcode incoming MPEG2 Video with MPEG1-Part 2 Audio

I’m new to Wowza … first installation, and first post. Please pardon any 'Netiquette gaffes for this forum.

I have a Scientific Atlanta D9032 [professional hardware] video encoder that also outputs an IP stream as MPEG-TS. It can only output MPEG2 video with MPEG1-Layer 2 audio, so I’m trying to use the Transcoder to convert that incoming stream to something playable on various other H.264-savvy devices.

I’m stumped at the following log entry, but not sure if it’s a red herring:

I can get connected to the individual streams coming out of the Transcoder, but they are heavily garbled/errored and unwatchable, even in the Test Player. Since the incoming Source is MPEG-2, trying to record it doesn’t yield any good results, though I _can_ run VLC on the server and watch the incoming data stream/content with no problems.

Looking for help here…

This was the outcome:

> My encoder was set to the normal setting of 7 MPEG packets per IP packet.
> 
> Through an educated guess based on your suggestion of splitting packets, I changed the encoder to output only 1 MPEG packet per UDP packet, restarted the stream, and it came right up.

Hello.

I have a similar problem.

I also have a problem with transcoding.

Video stream that is routed to WowzaStreamEngene I get with satellite equipment PBI.

after getting transcoding video frame rates at which information encoder 25 frames per second, but if you look at the video, which I check the player, it seems that only every second encoded frame. It turns out, how-to-strobe effect.

Parameters of these articles do not solve the problem.
