# Transcoder addon not available on Developer license

Hi,

has there been a change in licensing terms on dev license? I’ve just installed a new instance on my virtual windows server 2012 r2 64b dev environment, but the license information on wowza manager says there is no transcoder license available.

Hi,

Please do make sure you have 64bit Java installed. I suspect you have 32 bit.

See the following tutorial [After-installing-latest-Java-version-java-command-is-still-using-old-Java-(fix)](https://www.wowza.com/docs/how-to-manually-install-and-troubleshoot-java-on-your-wowza-media-server%28fix%29) that outlines how to change which version your system is using, it maybe that it is still pointing to 32bit.

The development license does allow 1 stream to be transcoded.

Thank you for your response. The problem was solved with this. Root cause was that I had both 32 and 64 bit java installed, and my JAVA HOME variable pointed to 32 bit java binary. Chancing that and restarting Wowza fixed my problem.
