# Streaming Multicast by HLS protocol

Which protocol Wowza Engine support multicast?

May I publish multicast streams to a multicast network using HLS protocol?

Hello,

It is not currently possible to publish a multicast stream using any of the HTTP based streaming protocols.

You can publish an MPEG-TS or RTP stream to a multicast address, using the [Push Publishing](https://www.wowza.com/docs/sample-map-file-entries-for-stream-target-destinations-push-publishing%28with-sample-mapping-file-information%29#MPEG2TS) functionality available in Wowza.
