# S3 random broken pipe

Hey guys, I’m testing out S3 hosting with caching and it works awesome! Sometimes however, and it’s pretty rare, I receive this error:

2010-09-30 12:00:36 EDT comment server ERROR 500 - HTTPByteReader.sendRequest[[http://mybucket.s3.amazonaws.com:80/path/to/videos/myvid.mp4]:](http://mybucket.s3.amazonaws.com:80/path/to/videos/myvid.mp4%5D:) java.net.SocketException: Broken pipe

Has anyone else seen this? I haven’t been able to replicate it intentionally, but it definitely shows up in the logs.

Any insight greatly appreciated.

Not exactly sure, but it’s not a good idea to worry about every WARN or ERROR line you see in the logs when there is no manifest problem with streaming. It’s probably just transitory network issue.
