Hi Experts

I’m testing a Samsung S3 phone to stream live Traffic in my city via city’s server (RTSP://00.00.00.00:554/1/VideoInput/mpeg4/1) and it stops at every 13 seconds. I’m using Video Player,MX Player,BS Player,VLC Direct pro and all acting the same (stop at 13sec).It’s working flawlessly with the iPhone 4 using VLC as well but when I switched to Samsung S3 it doesn’t work quite well. Please advise if I need to do something else to make it works? Thank you very much.

Hi

Can you confirm that the iPhone is using the same network that you are testing the S3 phone on?

It may be that the service provider is blocking the keepalive.

Can you play the RTSP stream using VLC using the PC version rather than the VLC app.

You might need to set rtspValidationFrequency to “0”

Hi Jason

Yes I’m using the same network for both phones. The iPhone works well then I decided to test with the Android phone (samsung S3) but not very successful with this problem.I can not find an official VLC version for Android phone? If you know where I can get it,please send me a link.I think only VLC works well with RTSP? I did not try the PC ver.yet but not sure if it works? If you know how to solve this problem, please let me know.Thank you and have a good day.

Hi Everyone

I just make it work perfectly now. After a couple of weeks researching for players and reading and talking with Samsung supporters but no result.Tonight I just go back and play with the apps.called MX Player that I dowloaded from the Play Store. It did not work before but I just happen to get to the setting menu (hit the bottom left of the phone and the setting menu pops up).Go to settings/Decoder/check the “S/W decoder(network)”.Then go to the menu click on Netrwork Stream and enter your string (rtsp://…).It works very smoothly. So far this is the only player that works and allow you to enable the rtsp or it has a decoder to decoded the live treaming video.I’m so happy to share this with you.Thank you for all inputs.Have a good night.
