# Reduce time-to-play & Save CDN in buffer

Wowza Flowplayer now uses shorter initial CMAF HLS segments with Wowza Video VOD sources and starts with a small buffer (~3 seconds), which grows to 20-30 seconds after 10 seconds of playback. This reduces unnecessary CDN costs from unused data, speeds up start time and improves playback stability.
