# Recording stream

Hi there, when I make a recording in wowza for example I record a stream call it Moortown.mp4 the file that is stored in the content folder is something like the following : moortown\_2017-04-20-13.06.55.162-EDT\_0.mp4 what I would like to do is remove the \_2017-04-20-13.06.55.162-EDT\_0 from the file name this is produced in every recording I make. can I remove it permanently from wowza?

Hi Philip,

The actual solution would depend on how you record the stream.

The basic idea is to change the File Versioning Template to have only: ${BaseFileName}\_${SegmentNumber}, or you can even remove the SegmentNumber.
