# Purge Mediacache

Is there a way to purge the Mediacache using the Rest API?

Hi,

At this time, this is only possible using the Java API, as described in the “[How to purge an item from the cache (MediaCache)](https://www.wowza.com/docs/how-to-purge-an-item-from-the-cache-mediacache%28MediaCache%29)” forum article.

This option is not currently available through the REST API.
