# Process of creating VOD

Thanks to advise what is the process of creating VOD with different qualities. What are the steps and how is it done in API? We have followed the steps in the available documents on the website but unfortunately we didn’t get anywhere

Wowza Streaming Engine does not have the ability to convert VOD content. You must use a third party encoder to do this.

Below is likely the article that you read. While the article focuses on FFmpeg, the same concepts apply to all VOD and live encoders.

Do not use Handbrake to create VOD content as they removed the ability to specify keyframe distance in their source code.
