I have a windows 2012 Server R2 with installed Wowza Streaming Engine 4 Trial Edition.

The installation checks are positives:

- Confirm that the engine is running by opening a web browser: [http://localhost:1935](http://localhost:1935)

- Connect to Wowza Streaming Engine Manager ([http://localhost:8088/enginemanager](http://localhost:8088/enginemanager))

Then I have modified the [install-dir]/conf/Server.xml:

- from: 127.0.0.1

- to: 127.0.0.1,IP\_client

where IP\_client = public/WAN IP of the browser/client network (my PC Client with windows 7).

After modified Server.xml I have restarted Wowza Streaming Engine and Manager.

Then I tryed to access from my local client to remote Wowza Streaming Engine Manager.

The url used to try the access to remote Wowza Streaming Engine Manager is [http://IP\_server:8088/enginemanager](http://IP_server:8088/enginemanager), where IP\_server is the public address that firewall redirect to LAN address of server with installed Wowza Streaming Engine 4 (192.168.10.10:8088).

I checked at firewall log that the request is passed (destination 192.168.10.10:8088), but the browser of local Client shows the error: “unable to reach the site” and the log ([install-dir]/manager/logs/winstone.log) on the server is inalterated).

Can you suggest what can I do to connect to remote Wowza Streaming Engine Manager ?

Thanks

Regards

further notes.

the problem of access to remote Wowza Streaming Engine Manager from local pc ([http://IP\_server:8088/enginemanager](http://IP_server:8088/enginemanager)) is present also leaving unaltered the file [install-dir]/conf/Server.xml.

I tried also to access to remote Wowza Streaming Engine Manager using a VPN, i.e. my local PC reaches, via VPN, the LAN where is the server Wowza and I can try the access with address [http://192.168.10.10:8088](http://192.168.10.10:8088) (LAN address of server with installed Wowza Streaming Engine), but same result “unable to reach the site” (where firewall logs still reports “pass” trafic)

the external firewall was configured properly, but it was not configured the Windows firewall.

After adding the policies to Windows Firewall, the connection to remote Wowza Streaming Engine Manager has worked out regularly. Thanks
