# Possible to create a MP3 stream from rtmp live source?

Hi,

is the Wowza server capable of publishing a MP3 stream?

Source would be a transport stream via rtmp.

Winamp is not supported. But you can publish mp3 to Wowza over RTMP. AAC is preferable.

But this is not working with live sources, is it?

Pushing AAC is working fine, but with MP3 I had no success yet. ☹

The final goal is to make a stream, that can be opened with WinAmp.

I just found this from 07-13-2011 11:46 PM:

> No, Wowza Server 2.x and Wowza Server 3 will not support streaming to Winamp using SHOUTcast or Icecast protocol.

That applies to rtp-live mode as well, I guess?
