# OS X 10.9 Server vs. client

I will be using a web server separate from the OS X box that WSE will be running on. If so, are there any benefits in running server vs. client OS (I also won’t be needing mail service, DNS service, etc.). Thanks

Hi Bob,

I don’t know enough about Mac Server to enumerate benefits, but it would be preferable for running Wowza I’m pretty sure. Wowza Streaming Engine is server software.
