# On Linux, how to install Wowza on directory not /usr/local/WowzaMediaServerPro-1.3.3

I don’t have the access to /usr/local due to the firm infrastructure.

How do I install it on other directory like /var/tmp?

Given the potentially large impact on memory, CPU and bandwidth that running a streaming media server might have on a system, it would probably be best to get your system administrator to install Wowza and then allow you access to the configuration files.

As I understand it anything /var/tmp can potentially be scrubbed at any time, including boot-up.
