# nDVR to VOD conversion and data tracks

Hello,

I’m using the examples provided here to convert video from the nDVR to regular mp4 files, and I have an issue.

If I record the live stream normally, the mp4 file contains a track of metadata(assuming that I inject it). The same track appears in the DVR. The problem is, though, that after conversion this metadata track is missing.

What is the explanation for this? Is this a bug, or intentional.

i’ve tested this using Wowza 4.4.1 for Windows.

Hi,

Currently we do not preserve the data track when doing nDVR clip extraction. This is something that we have captured on our product roadmap, but I can’t say if or when this will be implemented.
