# mpeg-ts stream

Hi

I have this stuation.

I am receiving multicast stream on adress udp://239.0.0.1:1235 bud it looks like it is not h.264 format, it works if I use vlc for transcode to mpeg-ts(h.264)

Is it possible to transcode this stream with wowza and re-stream to rtmp,hls clients , I want to avoid vlc-transcode.

Hi,

Wowza can ingest a UDP source and create a RTMP stream without VLC player or the Transcoder. Please see the following article for ingesting the source using a .stream file.

Depending on the codec of the source, you may need to encode to a supported format via Wowza Transcoder, please see the [Wowza transcoder tutorial](https://www.wowza.com/docs/how-to-set-up-and-run-wowza-transcoder-for-live-streaming).
