# MediaCache scaling and Load balancing

Example setup: With 2 Edge servers that have unique MediaCache paths

Would requests for the same media file from multiple clients get cached on both Edge servers when using Wowza load balancing?

Hello,

Possibly. Theres not an automatic way of syncing the Media Cache stores between edge servers so each edge server would cache the content when requests are received. If both edge servers have received requests for the same media file recently then it would likely be already cached.

So even if there were 100 edge servers, each server would have to have enough drive space allocated for enough cache to support all the media files that could be requested simultaneously (or in short order)?

Or from another angle…

The load balancer doesn’t track requests for the same media then route requests to the same Edge server?
