# Live to VOD clip extraction: notification on completion?

Hi,

For the Live to VOD clip extraction (via REST API), is there a way to get a notification message when the extraction is complete?

Hello

You can poll the server to check the status as indicated [here](https://www.wowza.com/docs/ndvr-query-examples). Otherwise you could build an http provider that initiates it and then remotely queries an external server (of yours) with the result.
