# Live streaming using an RTSP/RTP-based encoder: why does the guide say rtmp?

I’m trying to stream to Wowza from a JVC GY-HM650U Camcorder that recently added the ability to stream using RTSP/RTP. In your guide, [How to set up live streaming using an RTSP/RTP-based encoder](https://www.wowza.com/docs/how-to-set-up-live-streaming-using-an-rtsp-rtp-based-encoder#comments), it says you need the encoder to connect with **rtmp**. The purpose of the guide is to stream using rtsp not rtmp, right?

Hello Johan,

Thank you for bringing this to our attention. An RTSP push would not use the RTMP protocol.

I have alerted our documentation team to review this issue.

Hi,

Thanks for letting us know about the error in the article. This has now been fixed.

The url is almost identical apart from the protocol and possibly the port number (if you don’t have your server configured to listen on port 554 fro RTSP).
