# Live Edge Repeater + Transcoder

I want to transcode the RTMP link using Live Edge Repeater.

Is this possible? The guide seems confusing as I need to change the application to “Live” but I need to have the Live Edge Repeater instead.

Hello,

You may need to reconfigure your Origin - Edge applications.

You can setup your Edge server to be a Live application to enable transcoding.

On the Origin application set it to push the stream via Stream Target to the Edge server’s Live application.

In other words you would use the [Persistent Mode](https://www.wowza.com/docs/scaling-with-wowza-live-stream-repeater).
