# Install Hangs on Creating the Wowza Streaming Engine Service

The installer hangs on Windows 7 64-bit at the Creating the Wowza Streaming Engine Service step.
Any ideas?

Happened to me too. Uninstall, reboot, make sure correct Java is installed, this is the tricky part. Jave JRE or JDK, this is not explained good enough and also on the Java website not great explanation, since they run from oracle and [java.com](http://java.com), plus many different third parties.

If you are still unable to get past this step, and you have not done so already, I would suggest opening a ticket.
Please provide as much detail as possible about the system specs you are using, the steps you have taken to remedy the problem, and what the problem is seems to be. Also please include a link to this thread for reference.

Turn off virus protection is a possibility

Still no dice.
Same issue.
Complete uninstall of Wowza and Java. Re-install of Java JDK then try to re-install Wowza. Same issue. Just hangs at Creating the Wowza Streaming Engine services.

@shueardm - I tried that and it did not work.
I also tried installing on another computer with the same OS and I got the same results. It just hangs.
@salvadore - I will open a ticket and hopefully get it resolved.
