# Inbound bitrate changed per second, is it depends on internet speed? internet speed is equal to inbound bitrate?

Hello,
This article describe the stream health details in more detail, however, to address your specific question:
**Inbound Bitrate: Actual** – The rate of the stream traveling from the encoder to Wowza Streaming Cloud, in kilobits per second (Kbps) [https://www.wowza.com/docs/monitor-stream-health#snap](https://www.wowza.com/docs/monitor-stream-health#snap)
In other words, if you configure your encoder to send in 5000Kbps, your actual inbound bitrate should be close to that. If it is not and seems much lower, it is likely because your network connection cannot support it or there is an issue with the path between the encoder and the Wowza Cloud transcoder.
