# how to get incoming stream(RTMP) media information via API

Hi~

We are receiving the RTMP signal and transcoding it to HLS / DASH.  
I want to know the media information of an incoming RTMP stream.  
For example, video width / height or audio only.  
And the time when the media information can be known is before the transcoding process.  
Is it possible?
