# HLS streaming of MP3 files not working on android 4.3 + jwplayer 6.12 (Enterprise)

Hi i am using wowza paid version , HLS streaming for video files works fine on android 4.3(Dell Venue tab) but HLS streaming for audio file(MP3) does not working on android. it is showing an error “file could not be played” with JWPlayer . i tried this with native html5 player also but its not working with that also.

can anybody shed light on this.

Hello there and welcome to the Wowza support forum.

What are the audio and video codec of the stream?

HLS requires H264 video with a baseline profile. And AAC audio is suggested over mp3.

If you use mp3 then 128kbs, 44100hz stereo.

So you can start Wowza in stand-alone mode and view the server output in the console.

This will show any error or warn messages. Please see if there is any indication of this issue there:

Hi salvadore

i am using MP3 codec (192kbs,44100hz stereo) still its not working.
