# \[HLS\] Access video files on remote path

Hi,

I found an article ([Mediacache and SMIL](http://community.wowza.com/t/-/35524)) discussing how to use .smil under Media Cache. However, it requires .smil file is located at the same path of video files. Is it possible to have .smil file and video files on different machines?
