# For the last few years I have been streaming fine... rtmp  no I can not connect to wowza server (4.0.1) -no changes were made...

I have my encoder setup as rtmp://localhost:1935/live/CH

anyone have any ideas?

Hi @Chris Stockert,

Some questions (forgive me if they’re just too simple):

- Can you confirm that Wowza is actually running?

- Have you checked if there are any error messages in the logs?

- Are the encoder and Wowza running on the same machine?
