# does wowza support wav audio format ?

i need to stream wav files after transcoding using Wowza

Thanks for asking @Fares Karbia.

We do not ingest WAV or play it back. Only the following audio codecs for both ingest and playback.

AAC

OPUS

Vorbis

G.711

MP3

You would need to transcode the WAV on your own to an audio codec we support. You will not be able to transcode the WAV within the Engine transcoder.
